A while ago a whole host of videos started showing up where home users had done slow mo activities such as face slapping, baloon bursting, etc.

It turned out there was a new home user / semi pro camera that had this functionality.

Can anyone remember what it was?

I bet the 1200fps low res stuff would be amazing..

Also, it says its capable of shooting 1920-1200 HD at 60FPS. exactly what sort of flash cards does it take  50Gb Extreme IIIIIIIV ?

right im going to be reaeeally thick here and ask why not just buy a video camera and slow it down????

Cos most video cameras have a relatively low fps (60ish? not entirely sure), meaning you can see the jumps between frames if you slow it down too far, although I've seen some pretty good stuff a friend of mine did, which I think used some sort of software to interpolate frames.

Most vid cam are only 25fps, 30fps at a push.

At higher fps, you can slow it down to something like 20fps out of the say 1200fps, a 1second clip turns into a 1 minute clip. Without feeling like it's turned into a slide show.

Great stuff because if within 1 second, you film a man kicking the football, you'll get to slow it down and see the foot hitting the ball, the ball denting due to the force exerted and the ball slowing leaving the kicker's foot.
