High-jacked stream account

For a company who nearly all of everyone's games are linked to they have beyond shocking customer support.

that'll be the reason they've just had a massive input of new customers from mw2 so lots and lots of people having issues and falling for stupid phishing scams = big backlog.

Sorry to hear this man. It will take between 3 days and forever for them to get back to you. Ive been unable to log in for 5 days now, still no reply for support. For a company who nearly all of everyone's games are linked to they have beyond shocking customer support.
It's your fault you lost it in the first place. Everytime I've contacted them, they've responded quickly.

A few times now I've been invited to a group chat by a player called Admin. His avatar is the Steam icon and I assume he was going to try and talk me into something. I declined it straight away.

hmm the same thing happened to me afew weeks ago

i got a steam msg from someone called admin forgot what he said tho but it seemed fishy so i just ignored it and closed the window

Best advice I can give you is to use Firefox with the noscript addon to try and prevent this from happening again, though it isn't gonna save you if you don't check url's before entering sensitive information.

Beware of t'hackers and keyloggers, they be everywhere mon and they's gonna eat your babies! Or your steam account.

my steam account was hacked when i switched to nod32...somebody hacked the firewall and got into my pc cause i found a hijack folder in windows folder with information from the USA...i got my account back within 48 hrs...THIS IS WHAT U NEED TO DO.
open a steam ticket
they will then ask you to provide a game that you bought with a cdkey in the box and take a picture of this with your steam account name on a piece of paper next to it...send this as an attachment...if you dont have this then you will have to provide credit card details...just go into you history to see when you bought ypur games and stuff.....

i sent a picture of my steam account name on a piece of paper next to css and the original cdkey and receipt...i got my account back in 48 hrs...valve take hacked accounts very seriously;)

Dont use nod32 its overated and its detection rate is quite poor...get a proper virus killer and firewall like bitdefender security suite

Well i recieved an email from steam suport late last night informing me that my password had been reset. I then added a secret question and email confirmation so that hopefully this will never hapen again.

Lukily my account hadn't been banned however i would be interested in any detailed information regarding how long the hacker used the account. Can anyone advise regarding how this could be done?

Thsi is worrying considering how much money i have spent on steam and how much i rely on it for the games i play. Ive just changed my password out of paranoia.

I dont click on things like the OP posted but its still worrying to think people can steal what i have paid good money for.

My keyring will be full of 2 factor authentication keys before long lol.

took a day to get my accout back and somebody else i know got theirs back in an hour.

Yeh, ive heard that steam are incredibly good at getting hacked accounts back, beacause obviously some people can spend a small fortune on their Steam accounts...
