high miles on a VW VR6. do they take it well?

hi there, a guy at work is selling a golf VR6 with 150,000 miles. the only cars ive had with miles like this are diesel audis and 406s etc

how do they VR6 engines handle the high mileage? after 4-5 owners it will be hard to work out how well its been looked after

the price isnt that great considering the mileage and it doesnt have leather either.

anything particular to look out for? or will these things litterally go on and on?

ill find out about the tensioners
