High piched beep when power button is pressed...

Hi all. I'm after some help.

I have just done a little repair work on those cruddy LGA 775 cooler retention clips. One of the four clips was broken so I swapped it with an old fan clip from a previous cooler.

I took out the GPU, sound card, RAM and unscrewed the motherboard. As I have watercooling it was much quicker and easier for me to keep the motherboard in the case.

I took the cooler off the CPU, replaced the broken clip and reseated the cooler. I then put everything back together and pressed the power button.

All I get is a really high pitched loud constant beep. There is drive activity but no boot.

What the hell is wrong? :mad:

Ive forgotten to plug the GPU power in before. Is it definately plugged into the PSU?

Check all connections again, something isn't on properly or connected.

Might be worth consulting your MOBO manual as it should have descriptions of the warning messages mean:

I.E - Beeeeeep Beep! Beeeeeep Beep! - Could mean your CPU is missing, etc.

In future, cross reference the beeps with www.bioscentral.com, which should point you in the right direction. You will have to identify which BIOS you are using. This will be in the mobo manual or on their website.
