sup guys playing halo today and in team sniper i was playing some dude with "red" ping shot and hit him around 4-5 times (2 shots to kill with a sniper in halo) he didnt die turn around and killed... other people in my team were complaing about him also... this is a very common occurrence in online gaming... the queston is howcome there not booted/alloud to play online with such bad ping its redickulous for exmaple i have a freind and when he plays MW2 on the 360 at his he ownes normaly around 30-5 kill/death when he plays at my house (with the same TV/contoler) hes rubbish! i played a game with him the other day firing a whole clip of ammo into him and 1 shot and i would be dead.. watching the kill cam i dont even fire a shot... its not my internet i am always green and have a good upload/download.. but playing with out this "lag help" he cant play!

the point i am trying to make is why are people are aloud to play and ruin other peoples fun! however in most PC fps people are booted for having a too high ping..

what do you guys think on this matter?

They shouldn't.

Most online games that I play use forms of lap compensation etc which are meant to lower the effects of lag for all players. Perhaps halo doesn't incorporate that? or perhaps Xbox Live in general doesn't care too much about pings, but about locations instead..

This is a problem in a fair few games GOW2 was the worst for it and people exploited it that is why Epic are switching to dedicated servers which for a paid service xb live should be doing this anyway.

Png? As a console user I do not know what that is.

I am the 12 year old who has linked his Xbox360 on the sly to parents wireless network, only problem is 12 year old has bedroom above the garage 2 rooms away from router...progress!

Above section is an ironic observation.

This is why you should never take console online FPS games very seriously, the lack of vote kick features is shocking tbh. PC games have had it for years, yes it can be abused but it's better to have the chance of that happening than to put up with laggy players.

i would normaly just play on the pc but most of my mates have 360... the 360 is easyer to jump in and play and can have more then one person playing on the same console... with pc games as well i have to mess around opening ports ect witch if u have a stock O2 wireless box... pc games dont seam too run as well

i have never had to open any ports on my router ever ?
if games don't run to well its most likely you PC is crap, good job your on OCUK forums the best place to get advice on how to get a better PC.

Thats just retarded, me and 3 mates all with above average P.Cs would endlessly stuggle to connect together, get Voip working and not freeze or drop out games playing online.
Company of Heroes and Battlefield 2 were the worst offenders and my PS3 and Xbox are just start up and play no probs.
