Hi not sure whats going on but my pc wont turn on and it makes a high pitching buzzing type noise. Power switch does not work but the mobo light comes on and it just buzzes. Only set up the pc yesterday been going fine temps fine, not crashes, freezes etc. Can the fans on the case cause this? my fans have been making weird noises lately. They sound as if someone has put a peice of paper between the blades while there spinning or they make vibrating sounds while booting up, when it happens some times i tape the top of the tower then the fans go quiet.

Edit: Pc turns on now, just unpluged a fan double checked all cables was in and worked.. dident change nothing. :\

Turn off the system and ensure that there are no obstructions to any of the fans (inlcuding the PSU and CPU fans). If your fans have been making 'weird noises' then this would be the first place to start looking.

If I am reading this correctly. No. Do not put a cable from the PSU onto a fan header on the main board.

thanks a lot after googling etc found out its the floppy cable lol. Could be the gfx card for all i know only thing in the comp atm that aint new. I will get it checked out later just to be sure, my first build so i keep thinking ive done something wroing even tho i went through the manual about 20 times.

Any time :)

The fan headers are already being powered by the psu vai the motherboard for powering fans :D putting it on one of the headers would be like connecting the PSU to itself! Vai the mainboard, ouch! hehe.
