I have two AOC 2436Swa on two different rigs and both experience the same problem:

when the machine is under any significant load, the monitor emits a sound like capacitor-whine:

- gaming
- stress testing
- even photoshop moving layers around

i have had a good listen and the noise isnt coming from the machine - it is the monitor

i have never opened a monitor but can anyone suggest what id have to do to stop the whining?

(i have thought of opening the monitor and using hot glue to cover the capacitors but if anyone can narrow it down any further - it would be a great help)

thanks

It is coilwhine if it changes when you change the backlight intensity (brightness). My Hazro does it to on some screens, the Hazro thread has some image in it that will make the monitor scream in agony.

Nothing much to do unless you want to try sending it in for replacement but if both monitors have it, chances are the replacement will do the same thing. You could void your warranty, screw the thing over and hotglue everything I guess if it's driving you bonkers.
