Hi, just put together a new Rig, using an asus p5k and a X-fi extreme gamer.
Sometimes when I first boot up, I get nothing but a high pitched noise from my headphones when sound is playing. To resolve it I have to either reboot or drop into audio console and turn something off then back on, like crystallizer, or just switching the modes back and fourth.
This only seems to be happening sometimes when starting up. It's not my cans as I have tried another pair and it gets the same issue.
I'm thinking its the card, as least I want it to be, wouldn't be a faulty PCI controller on my board would it?
