Why don't you keep an eye out for the Sony 24" widescreen CRT? I still have my beloved F520 21" gathering dust but they did also do a 24" CRT which was the pinnacle of CRT's.
Incidentally I can't notice any ghosting or significant lag on my Dell 3007 TFT and I used to e particularly sensitive to it when I first used a TFT. I think the reason for it is the 3007 only has a single DVI input and no other connection such as VGA - therefore there is no electronic standards conversion going on. Just a theory but I'm very happy with the 3007.
