Anyone got a 15 plate or newer autobox model ?

Dealer and Ford Helpline have been hopeless as you would expect.

The handbook says the door mirror should dip when the selector
is put in reverse, but mine doesn't.

It has the memory seats and memory door mirror fitted, but no dip on reverse.

You have to select the mirror, before putting it in reverse it does say in the manual.

"To use, do the following:
  1. Select a mirror using the power mirror control.
  1. When you place your vehicle into reverse (R), the mirror automatically dips.
The exterior mirror automatically returns to its original position when:
  • Your vehicle speed exceeds 10 km/h.
  • Your vehicle is no longer in reverse (R).
  • You switch the power mirror control off."
You have to have previously set its position as well.

"
Setting a Reverse Mirror Dipping Position
Switch the ignition on.
Select the mirror you want to adjust.
Put your vehicle into reverse (R).
Re-position the mirror to your preference.
Note: If you have already programmed a position, wait for the mirror to stop its movement before re-positioning it.
Use the memory preset control to save the position. See Memory Function.
Put your vehicle into park (P)."

Even with the L or R door mirror selected it won't dip in reverse.

I wonder that it's not an option on my Vignale.

Spec info on Ford's vast model range is very vague, they say I got auto dip on reverse, which I don't,
but I got Global Closing which they never mention as a feature in their online brochure.

Turned it off on mine. Had the windows open from the keys getting pressed in my pocket too many times.

Have you gone through the mirror position setting procedure, and made sure its enabled in the menu.
I've enabled a load of extra stuff on mine as well if your handy with a laptop. Got tyre pressure displayed, digital speedo where the lane assist is, auto locking, turned the power sockets down 1 second after you open the doors, i like leaving stuff attached so didn't want a flat battery.

Have a look here and see if the option is listed, just put in your vin or reg number.

Many thanks for that link, very informative re detailed specs fitted and not fitted to a particular model.

However the list for my car doesn't include " dip in reverse " but it also doesn't list it as not fitted.

So, the research continues.

Have you set the mirror position first? When you are parked, put the car in reverse and set the mirror to the preferred dipped position and then take it out of reverse. Next time you put it into reverse it should dip to your preset dipped position.

That wont do anything other than permanently change the mirror position. I put the procedure above straight out of the manual.
