High spec pc but freeze sometime running windows 8

I have a high spec but it freeze sometime with the timing circle not able to do anything for 1-2mins,
Im running windows 8, I did not have this much with windows 7

pc spec
Cpu AMD fx 6300
MB Asus sabertooth
RAM 8gb Dominator 1600
HDD 1x corsiar 120gb SSD 2x samsung f3 1tb
gfx 460gtx

all latest drivers and windows updates

When does the freezing happen?

its happened before when trying to load a game, and multi tasking running a few things at the same time (downloading a file, using browser, closing files running corel ps ext)
