How Do :)

Just wanted to show y'all my state of the art racing rig :D

• Logitech Driving Force Pro (£56 new from the MM)
• Ted Baker Camping Seat with built in drinks holder (already owned, but was £8)
• Piano stool that was already in the lounge which i didn't notice until yesterday would be so damn perfect for the job :p (years old, home made, free!)

done! - comfy, sturdy and cheap as chips ;)

the first lounge-suitable setup i tried was using a Supido Portable Racing Seat, and I gave it a fair chance but it simply wasn't good enough, there is FAR too much movement (left and right) due to the design. this can be slightly improved if you sit on a hard surface but this soon gets uncomfortable...

basically, i would advise against getting a Supido for anything more than a quick mess about. my new set up above on the other hand can be used for hours on end and does the job perfectly ;)

Your wheel is too high and screen too low lol

Looks canny tho.. I dont think id b-able to play without the G25 now lol. That wheel got a clutch pedal?

welllll the screen can't be any higher and the wheel can't be any lower but all seems spot on to me...

no it aint got a clutch, but its got a sequential gearstick so it wouldn't have would it, the G25 has one cuz its got an H-gate shifter...

Nice looking budget setup there. And those chairs are great for the money.

Does that steering wheel work OK if you just have it on your lap though?

And nice photo too

Oh sorry... i didnt check the specs of the wheel... Its the reason i asked the Question

Dont like the set up or wheel... so there we go. Enjoy

Good to see i'm not the only one who can't afford a £300 racing seat and £140 wheel. I've got a very similar setup to you, however fortunately my table is height adjustable and my chair is very much like a bucket seat. Hows the DFP working out for you in the end?

with me its not so much a case of the money (although it is a lot) its more that i'm in a 3 bedroom semi and there would simply not be the room for a full setup without loosing the second bedroom (3rd bedroom is an office)... plus although i love my racing games i'm not into it enough to justify that kind of extreme...

if i had a loft conversion or something then maybe but saying that, i'd prefer to spend that kind of money on trackdays in my real car ;)

but yeah i really like the DFP, does the job great :)

you know, realistically speaking i reckon on a scale of 1-10 using a standard wheel such as mine with a makeshift setup (like mine) is about a 7/8 on the enjoyment scale as opposed to the standard controllers 4 or 5... i dont think you would get enough out of the upgrade to a full g25 rig for it to be worth the extra cost and space to go up to like a 9.... in my eyes you're only getting a bit extra for a lot more cash...
