High speed/ high noise of cpu fan is it normal

Hallo all,

Yesterday i oveclocked to stable 3 ghz(375x8). And everything is good except the speed and noise of the cpu fan. From the moment when i start cpu it's loud like wash machine ;-)

is it normal?
Below my specifications :
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
c2d 6400 2.13 ghz@ 3 ghz
Arctic cooling freezer 7
4 gb geil 800 mhz
Asus 4850 512 mb
Hiper HPU-4K580-MK Type R 580W
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 200GB

Have you turned on the CPU fan control in the BIOS?

Replace the Hiper if you value the rest of your system.

by the way what kind of psu i can use/buy, let say i have 85quid.

Corsair 620 HX or the 520w version

In this week only 82 quid.

Good PSU with plenty of connectors.
Only downside I had with mine it was noisey if it did not have direct fresh air.
Sold and bought the 620W version which is virtualy silent and is modular.
