Been reading various articles about high speed photography using flash for things like water and balloons bursting etc.

Has anyone here tried this and can give me an idea of how you set it all up?
I have found some DIY examples of sound/light triggers for external flash, but not how to either connect the flash to the trigger or if any particular type of flash is required.

For example could I just buy a normal Speedlite and connect it in some way to the trigger?

Any help appreciated!

Andrew

To answer my own question it seems the Camera Axe control unit has a hot shoe adaptor that allows it to connect directly to, and fire, Speedlite type flash units.

Still, anyway who has done this I would be interested to hear from you.

Look at this site: phototriggers.co.uk
I don't think this breaks any rules as it is only triggers and not pc equipment

I did look into this once, but got no further than where you are now. I'll see if I can dig out the link to one chaps site who built his own triggers and stuff.

Thanks for both the replies. If you have those links it would be appreciated.

How far I will eventually get not sure either! Part of the problem is the £s add up as you start looking at it in detail!
