High system temp?

I have an e8400/4gb ram (4x1sticks)/3xHDDs (1x250, 2x1tb) and an 8800GT on my Gigabyte P35 DS3R. My system temps are in the 40s quite often.

Not unusual for it to be 47-50! Which to me seems rather high. How can I get it lower? I have looked a diff NB heat sinks but my tuniq tower is quite big and sits just above the NB.

Is it because I have quite a lot plugged into my mobo?

are those idle temps ?

what sort of room temp is it sitting in ?

is the processor overclocked/got extra voltage being put into it ?

what case/fans do you have, cables all nice and tidy to help with air flow ?

it will all add up more you put into a case temps might go up depending on the extra heat output by the new parts.

well thats at idle but when I play games I do put fans on higher and it stays roughly the same.

Temps at the mine are 45 and my room is 24 degrees.
Not oc'd
P182 case and it has fan back, top and one around the hdd's at bottom.
Cables are pretty tidy yeah generally all out of the way in the center of the case.
