I've just done a watercooled build for my sister in law- 6700k, GTX1080ti on Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Aurus, single loop with D5 on aquaero 6XT loop on a 420 rad in enthoo primo case and overclocked it to 4.6GHZ @ 1.32 and temps at stress seem high on the cpu- idles at around 30C, GPU 20c but after 3d mark bench mark cpu jumps to 100c/99c on cores, gpu to 39c. according to Open Harware monitor
pump and fans- which are basic phanteks case fans as waiting for delivery of Corsair SP140s- around 60% speed to keep noise acceptable.

I tried 1.3 for the o/c but machine hangs on stress test

I will resit the cpu block- phanteks glacier btw- when new fans arrive but any ideas gratefully received as not overclocked anything since an old i920 back in the day

I'm running 4.8ghz on a 6600k, at 1.375v
run of the mill air cooler.

I had to delid to bring the temps back to a more sensible level.

Edit, although it seems strange your gpu idles at 20c and only gets to 40c under stress, so there may be an issue with your wc loop.

First thing I'd check is the cpu mounting & also see if any air is trapped in the loop.
Even with basic fans on the cpu shouldn't be hitting anywhere near 100c

must have been air in the loop as just run the same benchmark and max temps was 66c- will keep an eye on it just in case

n.b. spoke to soon- back to 99c

will have to look at this again

oh dear- total failure... me that is!
there was a small piece of plastic stuck to the bottom of the cooler which was covered by paste- no writing or anything just clear plastic.
Removed, re timmed and now temps at load max at 67,65,65,63c on cores
Damn fool:D:D
