Just built a system with a friend and at stock with a Q6600 we are getting 64-64-62-62 under prime.

Just set it too 300fsb and now its 78-79-74-74.

used core temp 96.
on stock hs+f.

temps are probably fairly close as its a bit toastie when you touch the cpu hs.

and help or advice would be welcome :)

Thx

Hi r3k0

With temps in that high range using stock HSF (300x9=2.7Ghz) It may be worth considering an after market cooler. As the commando has the similar cooling design to the striker either of these two extreme coolers will fit the commando mother board. Especially if you are intending to over clock. Is the Q6600 a GO out of interest?

Tuniq Tower

£27.99
£32.89 inc VAT

or a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler

£34.99
£41.11 inc VAT

The coolers are both large especially in height depending on the case used they may not fit

(*Note* the TT120U has been shown not to have flat base due to TT manufacturing process and if uneven may require lapping)

Hi

i was just looking at a review for the Ultra120, and saw the review about the concave bases.

he will be getting something soon anyway, will be added heater for his bedroom till then :D

and yes im 99% sure it is a G0

Thanks for the links m8 :)

It's got high vdroop though and P965 wasn't really designed with Quads in mind, but good luck! Will be interesting to see how far a Quad can go on it, wonder what bios' support is like since the introduction of the P35 Asus boards?

I sent him to Microdirect with a nice shopping list
but they didnt have the P5k-e in stock, so they sold him the Commando instead :/
i was a bit supprised by those temps.
he will just have to invest in a good cooler very soon.
there was about 8 new bios's up from the 1201 that it came with, last one from 11/07

Thanks for comments guys
