Hey there, don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but for some reason CS 1.6 likes to use both cores of my C2D at full, meaning my CPU temp jumps up, hitting around 53 under load, anyone got any ideas what CS does this? But more to the point isn't this a bit warm for a stock C2D with an Arctic Freezer 7?

Definately seems warm for a game like that, you got the heatsink mounted correctly?

Mine doesnt hit load like that in CS

Yeah, checked and checked again, had this PC with this set up for ages, but only just started playing 1.6 again, never really looked at temps at stock, only when I was attempting to overclock and failed, I wonder if having more cables recently has upped the temp, just put in a UV cathode so more cable mess, thought I'd tidied it up pretty well though

Probably a silly question but have your ambient room temps risen much with warm weather etc? My room temp rises to nearly 30c on warm evening and my E6600 sits at a hefty 50c with a Freezer 7 installed (overclocked though with 1.5v through the core) On a cooler day it idles around 42c.

Haha good question actually, I think it may be a little warmer in here now, not too sure though, really wanna give overclocking another go, mebbe summer isn't the best time to try though, heh
