just wondering if anyone knows the limits for voltages for the new sandybridge intel i5s?

i wondering if my 8gb of patriot g series 9 9 9 24 will work with an i5 as its rated 2.0v, but will run at 1.65

thanks

I have heard they dont recommend RAM above 1.5/1.6.. but i have heard people running fine with 1.65, it just depends if you fancy chancing it

i might try it, i have 12gbs of the stuff to sell, im not sure ill get nywhere near what i paid for it, £70 for 4gbs!!

I see corsair vengence is quite cheap though, i like the look of it, might opt for 2 of the 4gb sticks, as i believe having just 2 dimms as oppose to four puts a little less stress on the cpu i hear

might chance it though, wont be able to afford until ive sold the old stuff

anyone wanna buy some? lol

wpuld it cause problems do you think? instability for example? or just simply not turn on.... i always thought the more volts the better for stability lol

£70 for 4gb! Thats when I decided it had become cheap, I paid 480 odd for 8gb back in the day, shame its 1.8v though so I cant use it if I upgrade, although tbh Ive never tried just running it at lower volts.

i know so cheap, just saw some geil memory ddr3 1600mhz for £38!!! i mean, WOW. corsair do some xms3 for like £40 too. so cheap.

you can run my stuff at 1.65 easy, im not sure why it says 1.8v, that seems far too high too me

chea chea cheap. thats how i like my memory. for today anyhow, as ive hard memory is memory
