Folks, If I were to buy something like 1866Mhz RAM and I have a 4770k i7. At what values would I need to set the mobo in order to achieve the 1866Mhz ram speed and say a speed of 4.5Ghz on the CPU?

CPU OC depends on the motherboard, so give us your specs.

For memory, you just select the "XMP profile" (99% of the time) and it works just like that. Chances are it might even work straight out of the box correctly.

Sorry. Its a G45 Z87 MSI mobo.

You mentioned running using the XMP profile. What if I purchased something like the 3000MHz RAM? Surely that would be too high?
