Higher idle temps ok?

Hi there guys,

I replaced my case fans and CPU cooler fan with Akasa cobras. The old case fans were at max all the time but were a bit loud. The new fans are controlled by PWM and are very quiet at idle but my 5970 idle temp has gone up to about 55C and CPU idle temps are a tad higher too. Is this anything to worry about? The fans do speed up at load but not to full speed in games yet.

Have the load temps gone up? Are the fans quieter on idle? Well worth the trade off for silence if the cooling kicks in properly under load. Also 55C idle is nothing for a GPU, my passive HD cards idle at 65C+

metalmackey, how have you set up your pwm fans? was thinking of giving it a go as mine are all running 100% plugged into my boards fan headers. Not them i am really to worried when it comes to noise but would really like to no how its done

The fans are connected using an Akasa fan cable that connects to the CPU header on the mobo and gets power from a PSU molex.

The fans were the wrong way round

Now that my bro has put 'em right, the idle temps are lower

, gcard is now 46C

intake or outtake? It does makes a huge difference.
