Hope someone might be able to help. I have a 2500k it was part of a bundle I got through ocuk, it came with a 4.6 overclock using a basic Corsair A50 air cooler (not sure on voltage used). I have just ordered a replacement motherboard for it (Asus V Gene) and hoping to get more out of it as I am now using a custom loop, anyway my question is, the max recommened voltage is 1.4v for the cpu is it safe to go higher if I can keep the temps down?

I've seen people running 1.45-1.5V on their 2500k chips.

There's no real official line for safe voltage, it's more about what you feel comfortable with. Your chip is likely to degrade faster at higher voltages, but it should likely still be fine provided you maintain good temps at 1.45V-1.5V.

Intel say that chips can start to degrade over 1.4V. The higher the voltage the more likely it is to degrade. For benching hitting 1.45-1.5 should be fine. Fir a 24/7 over lock its best to have it within safe voltage.
