My understanding is that to use higher refresh rates some monitor specify this via the displayport.
Does this mean that the cable I use must be a Displayport one on both ends?

Could I get away with plugging the montitor in to an HDMI cable VIA a DP to HDMI active adaptor?

If not, what cable would you folks recommend?

Thanks in advance as always. :)

AG352UCG6 into a 2080 .

According to the manual I need to use the display port outpit drom the monitor but I don't have a dp cable at the moment .

But in the interim I have an HDMI and hdmi to dp adaptor .

Any recommendation on which do cable to get? Some of them are advertised as only 60hz capable at 3440 X 1440.

Yeah you will want to connect into Displayport. On that panel, it is only port capable of 120hz and similarly only way to get G-Sync working. Latter is not available via HDMI.

As for cable, I personally use the Lindy CHROMA cable and works perfect with high refresh rate 3440 x 1440 panels. Am sure there may be plenty of cheaper ones that would work fine, but not tried them personally.

Cheers bud, so what would I be looking for exactly? Going from DP on the monitor to HDMI on the back of the GFX card?
Or does it need to be DP to DP all the way?
(I checked the Lindy website but couldnt find a DP to DP?)

Could I use an HDMI cable with an active DP converter on one and end and HDMI on the other?

Yeah just go displayport to displayport as mentioned, single cable, does it all no probs and no fuss.

Ahh I used the big online rainforest to get mine, got it in loads of length's. The one linked above could be another option also. I just mentioned the Lindy Chroma as I know it works but any half decent DP to DP cable should do the job fine.

Thanks folks. Ive gone for a Syncwire DisplayPort Cable 2M, seems to have good .

Ive gone with
DP to DP Cable, TechRise 2-Metre Gold Plated DisplayPort to DisplayPort (DP V1.2) Audio and Video Cable 4K Resolution Supported - Male to Male
