hey ive got an antec 900 case and saw that sopme of the fans could do with a quick clean, so i opened her up and removed all the dude i could see and i have a TRUE HSF with a fan so i removed the fan and hoovered the hsf and looks much cleaner.. but since ive done that my cpu used to be below 35 degrees (coretemp and everest dont read anything below that) while playing wow, but now they go up to 39ish .... whats going on here?

edit: also notice that the gpu is reading a higher temp also than before when idle and also when playing wow... :( whats happenned though removing dust was supposed to lower temps

Ah, now you appear to have discovered one of the best kept secrets of the computer World, everything is run on dust and smoke. ;)

Or more seriously I wouldn't worry about it terribly, the temperatures are still more than acceptable, however it is possible you knocked the heatsink while cleaning so it doesn't make such a good contact. Alternatively it may be that you have inadvertently diverted the airflow and that is affecting the cooling abilities.

Have you put the fans back in so that that they pushing/pulling in the same direction as they were before the clean?

yes, the only fan i actually removed was the cpu fan and its back on the correct way.... i think it may have been to do with room temp tbh....

past few days my room has been freezing!!!! but yesterday we had quite a bit of sun and my room seemed quite warm, so i think its todo with that, i shall resit the HS aswell as i did give it a small knock and it twisted a bit...:p oops
