Higher than normal temps on my CPU.

I've got an Intel i7 3770 (non k) and recently bought a new case. It has 7 fan inputs, i am only using 4 plus the H55 liquid cooler (mounted to the front), the 3 front fans are intakes, the back one and two top ones are exhausts, taking the air out.

However at idle, my CPU temps are between 43-49c and under stress they go around 78-82c..

This to me doesn't sound normal, so how do i get them lower?! I've tried the obvious things, like re thermal pasting my CPU etc, changing fans around etc..

EDIT: Tried Speccy, Realtemp and HWInfo and all give same temps as each other

When your CPU is idle it should only be a few degrees hotter than the water cooler in my experience so feel the h55 and make sure that feels like its also warming up with the CPU, this should tell you if you have good CPU contact.

If the h55 is warming up then you have good contact and i would look at the fan curve next, does it come with software that lets you adjust the fan speed on the h55? Or does it just connect to you motherboard fan headers and have to adjust your fans using your mobo software?

If i touch the bit that is on the CPU it is unbearably hot when gaming, goes up to 84c+. When idle its quite warm to touch.
