my son has a hiper 580r in his rig, ive noticed that it only has 1 pci e power lead (modular) can it be made to take a 8800gtx, which requires 2 pci e powers

Just use molex to pci-e convertors. The card may have come with some otherwise you can get them for fairly cheap.

Those power supplies come with the necessary converters, think they did that to get the two feeds running on separate rails.

What other parts that PC has?

That PSU is even theoretically only good for 400W and probably well less than that.
