Hiper 580w Type-M question.

Does this have the reliability issues that the type-R had, if so any recommendations of an alternative for around the same price? Will be powering the rig in my sig with a 640Mb GTS instead of the 7600GT.

I guess there just as likely to blow like the Type-R's but all Type-R's dont have these "reliability issues". my Type-R 580w modular is 2years or just abit more old now and as far as I am concerned its beeng reat for me and rock solid, just switched to a corsair HX520W as I plan on upgrading my graphics card soon but my Hiper ran the current system perfectly and In my mind will run any C2D system with an 8800GTS or lower perfectly well too.

For the same sort of price a OCZ StealthXStream 600w is available.

But TBH, get the Corsair 520W for piece of mind, some people will argue it's the most important component in the PC.

Plus it's only 20 quid more, and as we've found, great customer service on here from Corsair

Is the Corsair really that much better apart from being modular, and would it run a GTX or SLI GTS's?

Oh well, decided to pay the extra for the Corsair so hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow along with an 8800GTS 640Mb. Should be a nice boost in performance.

From a 7600GT? Hell yes

Going from 7900GS -> 2900XT here. Hoping to get mine tomorrow as well

Heh, it'll be the first time I've had a near top of the range GFX card since a 9800pro, is it sad that I'm really excited about it?

Should cope with 2x GTS's, but for 2x GTX's id get the 620w for peace of mind.

If I could afford 2 GTX's I would't be worrying about a few quid more for a psu.
