I bought an X800 GTO 16 (powercolor) from overclockers and was nearly ready to send it back.
Games would black out on me at higher settings.
Talked to tech support and was told my Q-Tec 650 was probably to blame - this was confirmed by reviews I read and articles about the Q-Tec PSU's.
So went and ordered Hiper HPU-4S480 which has a peak of 530 and steady 280w output.
Now instead of 1 or 2 games playing up occassionally - all my games won't work (well they work but black out every 10-15 secs)
Should this have been a good PSU or am I on for a return?
My stystem roughly is:
3200 Athlon 64
3gb dual channel RAM
2 x 120gb SATA Hard drives
1x 300gb IDE drive
1x DVD RW
X800 GTO 16
Foxconn Mobo / Winfast - nforce 4 chipset
DVDRW
