Hiper Modular Type R 580W

Afternoon, I have one of these (yes heard about all the horror stories), mine has been going strong for 2 years.
I was wondering would i be able to run one of the new i7 setups or will i need a new PSU? Is it worth the risk?

I certainly would'nt risk it. A i7 rig would push a Hiper to it's limits and they are unable to deliver their stated 580w anyway. They also only have 360w on the 12v rails.

I had one of these blow recently and take a P4 motherboard with it. Not the end of the world but an i7 would be a lot worse.

fair point. Do these PSUs normally come with warranty so if they blow up and take other things out the manufacturer coughs up for it?

Far to many of these have ended up kaput to trust it with an i7 system

They went bust in August, get rid of it asap and get a OCZ or Corsair.
