Hiper Power Supplies

I'm interested in purchasing the Hiper 630W HPU-4M630-PE 85% Efficiency, w/8P PCI-E, UK + EU Power Supply Unit and was wondering how good it actually is after hearing some of the horror stories that have been floating around on the internet concerning the big bang theory.

I'm looking at updating my current rig starting with the Power Supply Unit then down to a tasty new Graphics Card either the new (Refresh) nVidia Geforce 9600GT 512MB or the ATI Radeon 3850 512MB on the PCI-Express Slot.

Looking forward to many replys and hopefully some quality information before I purchase.

The last time I had a Hiper it went bang .So id personally go for anything but hiper.Too much bang and not enuff hipe for me

Hello Mista.Gee, you certainly don't need a 600 wattage power supply unit to run either the Nvidia 9600 GT or the ATI Radeon 3850 Pro. As Vonny has already pointed out, the Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU will be more than sufficient.

Hi fellas.

Does it have a 4-pin cpu power connection on its own as well as a 8-pin power connection type?
