Hiper Type-R 530w. Noisy under load?

Just looking to other Hiper users to help me out. I have a new 8800gts and Hiper PSU. Coming from a silent X1900XT and Tagan PSU, the new set up is very noisy under load! I couldnt figure out if it was the PSU or Card before leaving for work.

Could anyone who owns the Hiper PSU confirm if the fan does indeed spin up when the PSU is hot/under load and make a lot of noise? Shame really if it does as its silent in windows

That card does require AFAIK a 550w PSU and Hiper's aren't exactly great to start with either.

mine doesn't the only noise is when it blows up, and thats another trip to ocuk for a new one

Already have the card and have the PSU fitted. Its just that both are meant to be silent but there's a large amount of noise when things start heating up!

It's ok you got the members of the Hiper haters club in. I own the 580 Hiper and don't have any issues with it.

As for your specific problem the 8800GTS isn't silent by a long shot. It isn't exactly loud but it does make some noise (well the stock cooler one does). The PSU on the other hand IS silent under all loads heated or other wise.

all reports ive heard say the gt's use the same cooler as the gtx's, and my gtx is totally silent, as silent as my corsair which is about as quiet as it gets for a psu with a fan.

Yeah it's the stock cooler. Seems to be two conflicting reports! I'm going to do a proper test tmrw when I finish night shift. Find out once and for all if its the PSU or GPU!
