Hi all.

I already own this PSU and i have 1 4850 already just wanted to see if my PSU up to the job of running 2 of them in crossfire without problems.

My cpu is 2180 clocked @ 3ghz

Thanks for any help.

I've been using an old Type M 630w Hiper PSU for about 4 years solid.

I first got it to power a socket 939 rig, and it's now in my fiancee's i7 system and it's been flawless so far.

I thought the whole Hiper's blowing up was exagerated till it happened to me, Lucky for me it went pop and didn't take anything else out.

My advice sell it off while it still works and get a corsair or similar :)

I didn't have any problems with my Hiper 580W Modular - the only reason I upgraded from it was because it couldn't handle overclocking with my Core i7.

The Hiper only has 360w on the 12v rail and is totally incapable of delivering it's supposed 580w output. Stress it too much and it is likely to blow and possibly take out the rest of your rig with it. This has happened to a few of us. They are an extremely poor quality psu and is likley the reason that they have now gone bust.

I had the 580 type-r running 2 hd's and a overclocked E6600 and a ati 3870x2 and things didnt seem right games stuttering/ poor performance in games fitted a 750w corsair psu and it sorted my problems.

I think the original type r's were quite good it was the revision they brought out which was
carp they really cut corners and costs with it hence why they had loads fail.
Apparently the last versions made were of better quality but by then the damage was done.

ps still have one running in a friends rig (original version).

i had the 580W and it worked well, beyond warranty. only reason i replaced it was that i needed more Watts, so i got the 880W TypeR Mach II. which is also very nice and quiet and stable voltages.

i didnt know they had gone bust? website seems to be working ok
