Hiper Type R 580W PSU making funny high pitched noise!

I think my Hiper Type R 580W PSU is on its way out! Its making a funny high pitched noise when the computer is off but the PSU is still powered! But as soon as I turn the PC on it goes away? Any ideas what this could be and should I get a new one before it blows up? I have only had it just over a year.

If you think I should get a new one can u please give recommendations?

Firstly you should maybe look into returning it under warranty.

If another model is the way to go though, the 400W FSP Sparkle is great value and will suit your needs just fine.

Just RMA`d mine for the same reasons, mine was just over 12 months old aswell, tbh i didnt turn it on again once i noticed the noise too scared it would take out all my clobber :eek:

E-Mail Hiper, they'll tell you to send it back to them, then they'll send you a brand spanking new one, will only take a couple of days, as they'll send your new one out next day delivery as soon as yours gets to them, its what my mate did with his Hiper.
