Hello all i have a old HP Compaq DC7100 PC which a couple of years ago i installed a HIS ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO pci card which has run Windows XP, Linux and even Hackintosh without any problems over the years but after installing Windows 7 Home i can't install the latests ATI drivers as the pc just blue screen's when it try's to install the driver

Have tried older driver versions also just the driver package but it still blue screens so wondered if anyone else has had this problem

I recently had this problem with Win7 64 and a HD5450; it would simply bluescreen as soon as I tried to install the drivers.

After a lot of frustration I got around the problem by putting in an old Radeon 4350 and the drivers installed fine. I then swapped in the 5450 which Windows picked up fine and it was installed using the drivers from the 4350.

A bit long winded I know (and certainly not ideal), but it was the only way I could get it to work. Perhaps there is occassionally a problem with the ATI installer, but it seems to have worked fine for a month now and I was able to update from catalyst 10.5 to 10.6 with no problem.

Spent all afternoon trying to get the drivers to install but gave up in the end and reinstalled XP and the latest ati drivers installed fine

fingers crossed they come out with an update / fix
