I've not heard anything about the AGP variant of the 3850 but the PCI-E version seems to be fine. Also I've yet to have had a card with a heatsink on the back and I've had a few high end cards over the years. I could be wrong as this is a new card and the last ATI card I had was the 2900Pro but I doubt it.
