HIS 3870 Dead?

Hi has anyone else had a HD3870 die on them?

It started off ok, worked fine for about 8 months after the first replacement. now this one had died im sure of it.

at first the screen would go strange, lines down the middle. and pixelated images ect. how ever this was happening at the BIOS phase of the boot not just in windows. not good, I have not over clocked it, nor adjusted the speed of the card.

I reset the BIOS to make sure it wasnt something in there making it **** up! no joy, now when ever I boot the computer I get no display, the fan is working however its getting really hot very fast, I have an Antec 900 case, so there is no reason for it to get that hot! Any ideas?

Its in warranty however, I have the issue that OCUk cannot take it back because if the refud the money will go to my Ex's card, and not mine. I have contaced Hiteck however no joy there so far!

Please someone help me!!!!! I need a graphics card!!! I miss my games!

lol, Yea not an option there! lol, I like my current Mrs would not like that and neither would I you know the mistake girl you went out with that you should have steered clear of?? my ex is said girl!
 
ah, then I guess your only option is to keep trying the manufacturer. If that doesn't work then I'm afraid you're out of luck.
 
yea was afraid of that, have you had one die on you? or you just suggesting I sleep with my Ex to RMA the card?! lol

aside from that my Current Mrs is well the best and carrying my child so I aint leaving for the sake of a graphics card!
 
No i haven't had one die on me but these things do happen sometimes. Usually its the onboard vram that has gone bad.

And nope, I don't suggest sleeping with your ex to rma it lol. Especially if you already have a wife carrying your child!

My 3870 is acting up also sometimes doesnt engage at boot so nothing but a blank screen untill i reboot and get random vpu recovers in both 2d and 3d.

are you sure that they would refund the cash? because that would be ace, i would have thought they would try and fob you off with a 4670 or something?
 
My IceQ3 3870 that I bought from a competitor died, and ended up having to contact HIS in HQ to get a replacement issued. One day it just wouldn't POST and that was the end of it. Substituted in a different card to confirm everything else was ok and it was.

Now have a 4850. :) Don't look back ;)
 
I am in the middle of a RMA, my HIS 3870x2 kept doing random reboots. Tomorrow it will be a month ago OCuk received it and a month on Thursday since they sent it back to HIS. :mad:

I have 3 games sitting on the side waiting to be played, Stalker Clear Sky, Warhead and COD 5.

At the moment I am using a friends 1950 Pro 256mb.:(

Well all can say is I have been waiting a month, I have called them again today and was told it could another 2 weeks! I said that was unacceptable after I had already been waiting a month already, then I was told I should have a new card by the end of this week.

I then told them, I want to know what they are sending me before you post it to me.

hmmm i would not be happy with that at all tbh and i know that some places just sort it instantly.
