HIS 6870 Crossfire - Overheating

Ill get a picture when I get home, I have to admit the intake into the case isnt the best, I have an 80mm fan at the front of the case sucking air over the hdd bay, and I have a 120mm fan installed in the side panel of the case sucking air into and onto the cards, but the issue only seems to happen in BF3, doesn't overheat in any other games :/

Ive stuck a system exhaust between the 2 cards now and have also put an 80mm fan blowing directly onto the cards from the front, this has lowered temps to around 79-83 under load which is much better.

But! I am still getting stuttering???

After about 5-10 mins of play it starts to stutter, it does not do this with a single card...?

Probably it is due to the game still in beta and AMD not yet has a good driver for support the Crossfire in it yet.

Multi-GPU does have chance of getting micro-shutter, sometimes driver/game updates fix it, sometimes they don't. This is the reason why lots of people prefer single GPU card than crossfire/SLI two slower cards. They priortise reliability over grunt.

I wouldn't worry too much right now, as beta version of the game haven't got the final fine tone yet.
