I have a HIS 6870 running at stock. The rest of my system is a I7 920 @4ghz 6gb ram and a coisier HX 650 power supply
Its running win 7

Now when I run any benchmarks 3d mark 2011, intel burn test, prime 95,furmark etc my system is completly stable no problems what so ever but when I run some games at the highest settings I get a blank screen after a few mins then the computer locks up forcing me to reset. The games I have had this happen on me are : Saints row 3 (high settings)
Elder scrolls skyrim (ultra settings)
Dirt 2 (ultra settings)

My temps on my gpu never go above 60c and my processsor never above 75c

I keep hoping a new driver version will sort it but no the problems still there

Do you have the same card as I do, the Iceq x Turbo?

If so they are overclocked out of the factory, if it's the card with 1 x after the iceq, then it'll only be by about 20mhz gpu clock and about 70mhz mem clock. If there is an x in the title both before and after the Turbo, it will have been factory overclocked a bit more than that.

From what I've read, that can mean that some components might already be near their limit on what we deem to be their factory clocks.

Firstly, I would install MSI Afterburner, so you have some sort of control over the voltage, clocks and fan profile, then try tweaking the voltage up a tiny bit, keeping an eye on temps (as this will go up slightly in tandem with the voltage) It might be that they were too conservative with the voltage setup for the overclock.

If this doesn't cure it, try leaving the voltage at stock and underclocking the card by 20mhz or so on both the gpu and mem clocks. If this fixes it, then you can set about finding if it's the gpu or mem that was at its limit, so you can underclock one and set the other back to factory settings.

That is personally where I'd start for now :)

yes its the same card. I have tried increasing the voltage and underclocking but no luck. Also Tried every thing at stock and nothing if anything the problem is worse now then it was
