Hi All,

I just got a brand spanking new beast of a card which i am pretty pleased with, however i have notice i get an anoying screen flicker i have never got before when i maximize full screen games i.e WoW. Anyone else have this issue ? Also when i hit my start button on my keboard it takes almost a few seconds to minimise and open my start menu where as before it was instant...

Please help!

My current res is set at 2560x1600

Thanks,
Turboduck

Its a driver issue, i have 2 x HIS 3870's in crossfire mode, with the old drivers (Dec 07) i didnt have the problem however when i upgraded to the latest drivers 8.2 i now get the flashing screens when starting up wow, cod4 etc and if switching between games i get the last screen from the previous game, ie close wow and load cod4 i get the last screen in wow before i logged off and vice versa. Also when in a game and tab back to windows rather than being instant it seems to refresh the screen line by line.

I turnded off crossfire in the drivers and it no longer does this, so i can only assume its a driver issue with the crossfire implementation.

regards

Peter

I have exactly the same issue as you do, although it doesn't worry me. What does worry me though is that if I try and start a game after resuming from Hibernation, I get massive image corruption everywhere and the game is unplayable unless I turn off CrossFire or reboot the whole PC. Anyone have a fix for this?

Cool thanks guys, sorry to be a noob but how do i turn off crossfire in the catalyst - i cant seem to find the option...

Thanks!

You can't turn it off with the 3870X2 as CCC reads it as one card. You could try ATi Tray Tools I guess.

Can't use any drivers earlier than 8.1 with the X2 as they don't support it.

... /cry i seriously cannot put up with the annoying flicker and lag when minimizing and maximizing. There must be a way around it... there is a way around everything. apart from the flicker and lag when minimising this is a good card so i dont really want to send it back...

Is it really that much of an issue? do you flick in and out of games that often?

well yeah... especially wow and also if you pay that much for a card you at least expect it to act the same if not better than the last, my 7900gtx had non of this flickering malarky or lag it was instant, i just miss being able to do it i suppose :(

Sell the X2 and get an 8800Ultra or GTX :p, I'm sure all your problems will be gone then :).
