To those that will be getting their HIS x1950pro agp versions soon I was woundering if you can tell us about your experiances with them and how the scores are in 3d mark 05 etc.

Since I have seen ppl post saying they have HIS agp cards now, maybe they might be inclined to post about their experiances and gaming and benchies they may have done.

Small bump as this was on page 4 or 5 and doubt it would have getting a look in if left.

Just got mine.

Was using a Galaxy 6800 (my 7800gs bliss decided to crash pc in some game, sent back).

Doing 3dmark 2005 on 6800, I got 3591, on my Athlon XP 3ghz box.

Installing the HIS x1950 512MB turbo, leaving everything at standard I then got 7107, i.e. 2x faster.

Got 4000 on 3dmark 06, old 6800 couldn't even do 3dmark 06.

Nice and quite, cheaper than my old 7800gs, and doesn't crash like it either!

Was suprised not to see molex convertor for power, but thankfully my 620w PSU had a the 6 pin power anyway.

I imagine this will be my last AGP card, when my PC gives up the ghost it will be time to upgrade to the latest magic.

Any way to alter GPU fan speed?

Any way to alter GPU fan speed?

I can't see any way to change the fan speed.

Does it do it automatically, stay constant, or is fan control hidden?

installed this today and 3dm05 is now 9300, up from a previous 3600 using a 6800. The size of the card isnt as scary as id imagined. Its not that much bigger than the Leadtek 6800 it replaces, though deeper. It uses the Pcie power connection which is great if your PSU has appropriate cable, not so great if it doesnt, as you'll need to buy the conversion cable sep, from your local component supplier store. Its definately a quiet card. Flight sim X is more playable, for sure - Revisiting oblivion is pretty good, no more jerkyness. Pretty happy with the card. 512mb is probably overkill for the res i play at, but hey, remember one time 1GB was sufficient? :p

Thats the pci-e version. Seen that review its not bad but after agp version reviews to see if theres any difference.

but you've must have seen reviews for other brand agp cards. it's faster and quieter. what more do you want? :)

Lol duno, just like to see how it compares to the sapphire cards i supose.

If you haven't reliesed by now i can never make my mind up when buying things and torcher test how good they are with bugging ppl for reviews. :p

it's a great agp card, maybe the best ever?? oooo upgrading from 6800gt here, everything's a little bit faster some games more than others and everything looks sooo much better cos its image quality is incredible compared to my old nvidia card, example in GTR2 a very low texture angle game i needed AS set to 16x and even then roadside white lines where going blurry too early, with this ATI card it's set at 4x and it's going blurry at about twice the distance of the nvidia card at 16x :) on top of all that it's silent and sucks the hot air out of the pc so you get a few degrees temp drop on everything else.

to date, it certainly is the best agp card ever. one comparison we still haven't seen yet and that is how compares to a gainward 7800gs+ 24piper with the same hardware but i'm sure it will hold it's own. even if it does turn out to be slower, the ati card still wins on bang for buck for goodness. those nvidia cards were well overpriced. :D
