Today I got myself a new HIS ATI 3650 PCI Express Card after checking Asrock website for BIOS update to support the new graphics card

I have installed the card into my PC and nothing
The PC won't boot at all no beeps nothing

I can install my faulty ATI 9800XT AGP card and it will boot up

Any Ideas or which motherboard is worth getting to replace the asrock

I have Intel P4 D 2.8Ghz (upgrading to Intel Core 2 Quardo 2.4Ghz) 2GB PC6400 Memory

Many thanks in advance

If you got to BIOS Updates it has got an upgrade for ATI 3650 and 3850 ver 2.30

I have tested the card in my father shuttle and works great!

I will need to keep an eye on Asrocks website or get myself a new board + cpu

I am thinking about buying AMD 64 6000 + MSI K9A2 Platinum AMD 790FX

and then upgrade to the AMD +2 when they are out

If you do a search - I had this problem with my Powercolor 3870 with the same board. I upgraded the BIOS, did an RMA and got a new one - nothing worked. the 4coredual-vsta doesn't like newer PCIE cards, even though the asrock website said that my board would work. In the end I bought the motherboard in my sig and I'm very satisfied.

Thanks for the help

I think the Asrock board doesn't like the HIS 3650 because its PCI Express 2 may be wrong

I use to build PCs for 4 years now, I am an network administrator so i don't get to play with all the new hardware

Any reasons why Intel not AMD?

I won't my PC for Gaming - Flight Sim + Racing games + COD4 + Crysis

Not too fussed about playing them at highest setting but playing the games connected to 42" Plasma via HDMI

I was going to have the AMD + two 3650 crossfire

I have got around £200 - £250 for MB, CPU, and a new case could you point me in the right direction

Currently i have got Sata 2 hard drive's and 2Gb PC 6400 memory and p4 d 2.8Ghz

You could try to find a GEN1 BIOS for the card or ask HIS to send you one. Although saying that, my PCI-e OcUK HD3850 worked just fine in my ASrock 4Core...

Thanks I will give them a call tomorrow to see if they will exchange but if not
