I'm deciding between the HIS 6850

and the XFX 6850, is there much difference?

Any reason for the price difference?
I really prefer the look of the XFX, and i've decided to buy these in crossfire, so.. the price difference for both together is 20 pounds.
If, there is any good reason other than how they look, i'd like the XFX, if not... I guess the horrid coloured HIS.

Is there any difference?

Does your computer case have a window? If not, you won't even see the card, so why do aesthetics matter?

Even if you do, the card's sticker you like will be facing the floor so unless the PC with the window is above your head you won't see it.

Go with the cheapest, I've got an HIS 6950, bigger and with a different cooler (vapour thingy) but they all appear to be reference design anyway and both with a 2 year warranty and I have read somewhere that XFX warranty claims can be a bit of a nightmare

I went with the HIS just because it's cheaper.

Does anyone know why Sapphire are charging £250 for theirs if it's the same reference model?

Thanks for your advice, ordered them yesterday! Shame they haven't turned up yet, but I understand with chirstmas and snow. Hopefully on Monday these should arrive!

Also, although this may seem unfounded as i'm sure it was maybe just my experience,...
My card at the moment is sapphire, is very loud and runs fairly hot. I don't know if I blame sapphire but,.. with what they charge aswel,.. no thanks :)

I think the reason the Sapphire 6950 is £250 is because they want you to spend the extra £20-£30 on their 6970... Or something like that.

XFX are one of the worst for RMAs when graphics cards are concerned.

I think OCUK will claim the warranty for you though,so you will have to deal with them not XFX for any warranty claims

HIS offer no warranty for Europe,i believe they are based in the US,again im sure ive read that OCUK will deal with any warranty if needed.

I would personally just get the cheapest out of these 2 manufacturers

Edit: Just read you've already ordered
