HIS X1950 Pro Memory Question?

Im just dying to get a 8800 but cant see any reason to do so at this time given the price and that dx10 games wont be around for a while. Also after reading a review or 10 and what Ive read through various forums im not convienced that buying one now is a good investment (ha I used the word investment when talking about a graphics card )So im thinking HIS x1950 Pro and 2 play CSS and BF2 at 1600x1050.

My question is this, should it be 512MB or 256MB version?

read the thread a comparison is done between 256 and 512 and if yourun high graphics and high AA etc which you will want to if you can i guess then the 512 is slightly quicker but not by a lot in most games.

why not go for the 512mb for mild futureproofing? From what i've read it starts to come into use at anything above 1280x1024 i.e. 'high' resolution
