Aye, there was no adapter in the box when I got my X1900XT last year. It's kind of frustrating to sign for something and open the box only to find that you can't use it, even though the writing on the box says the part is included.

Not sure if this is the case for HIS as I haven't used them, but it happened with my Connect3D.

surely if you live in a town, there must be an overpriced electronics emporium you can buy one from? :p
The day I got my X1900XT I rang around all over Preston to find one because I didn't want to pay for shipping on such a pointless item, but absolutely nowhere had any (and we also have a very good wholesale/warehouse place here that sells everything.)

In the end a friendly bloke from these forums posted one to me for nothing.

Yep, very frustrating to open the box and not be able to install your new card for (in my case) 5 days whilst I wait for a cheap tacky one from ebay. REALLY frustrating that OCUK do not tell you this and haven't got the relevant cable in stock

...but it's well worth the wait! Click the URL link on my sig for how I regard the HIS pro. :p

Got mine this morning..... missing a whole load of cables and the Xfire dongle (have emailed to get them sent), but my Etasis ET850 has 4xPCI-E conectors, so no worries.

What's happening with the new PCI-E power standard? CES-07 showed a few PSUs with *8-pin* PCI Express 2.0 power connectors.....
