Hi all,
Now I know there are many questions on this on the boards already, but I'm afraid when it comes to PSU, I just get really confussed
I've just bought a HIS X1950XT ICEQ 3 Turbo for my brother, but unfortunately didn't check his PSU beforehand. Now I'm a little worried about blowing things up.
His PSU is a Tagan TG480-U01. This doesn't have the 6-pin PCI-E connection so I've bought an 4-pin -> 6-pin adaptor.
The thing that's confussing me is about the ampage? The card states it requires at least 30A on the 12V rail. I've checked out the Tagan specs and this says there is a single rail with the maximum current of +12V at 28A.
Now obviously this doesn't meet the requirements, but as I understand the 30A requirement is for a fully loaded system? Is this correct?
Therefore as he is only running 2 SATA drives, the GFX card, 2 optical drives, a sound card, this sould be OK?
Thanks in advance!
