hey all,

I've had a nice new TV arrive today, yes it was a budget purchase at £500 for a 65" Hisence amazon special, but ive had a 43" one for a long while and like it.. so opted for the 65".

Hisense
65AE7400FTUK

Anyway, all went went, installed it on its wall mount, switched it on. All good so far.

Then it asked me to log into VIDAA so I can make use of the OS and all its nice features, and get Alexa mode working (which I actually really want).

Then... Uh Oh... NETWORK ERROR.... Retry? Sure.. check cables, all good.
NETWORK ERROR... Errm.. ok skip for now and check settings.
Settings all check out, netflix and bbc iplayer get access fine so i restart the TV and try again.

NETWORK ERROR... hmm, seems the VIDAA app doesn't work. I know, I'll uninstall it and install again, oh wait, you cant do that.

So... I have this big ol TV with a VIDAA OS... which wont let me log in to use its features...

Amazon customer support is as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Does anyone have ANY idea what I can do to rectify this issue?

I've tried:
- Revert to factory defaults
- Change to wireless
- Clear Cache
- Clear Cookies
- Change ethernet cable
- Use 4G from phone as internet
- Change Ethernet port
- Make an account on VIDAA.com and use that to log in (same error)
- Go back to work in anger.

Update.
Amazon have declared it faulty.

They are collecting it on Saturday.

They are also delivering it's replacement.

A bit smaller, but the 65" is practically too big for my living room. Gives me a mild headache.

New ones a QLed, and newer model. So here's hoping for good things

I have the 65U8QFTUK and Vidaa works ok, Youtube and Netflix are fine, inbuilt Plex not so much, so I cast from my phone to a Chromecast Ultra for that.

How you finding it?

I've just installed the new 55" only to find some serious back-light bleed.

Return set up back to amazon.

New 55" u8gq on its way. Was a little extra money.

Can't complain for the price at all, having proper peak brightness to allow for HDR (The U7 doesn't have as many nits) is great, plus the VA panel + bias lighting gives really good blacks.

Motion can sometimes be ropey, but all in all it performs well for a £900 65" tv.

Recently re-watched Infinity War and Endgame in 4k HDR and it looks incredible (as I haven't been spoilt by an OLED tv yet).
