Yesterday a driver turning right into my lane clipped the rear wheel arch and bumper of my car then scapered. I was on a green and well within the flow of traffic. They were trying to squeeze into a gap that wasn't there as the car behind (a Tesla) had to slam on the brakes. Nobody stopped unfortunately :( I did the police report etc with dash cam footage, couldn't get the plate because of the lighting conditions, how likely are they to investigate? I called on 101 with the reference to suggest there are cameras at the lights and they cgaf. Very much don't call us, we'll call you.

Under no illusion of getting it fixed under insurance but the driver of the other car is a moron so deserves the hassle. Contacted a couple of dent removal places, awaiting quotes etc. I don't think it's that bad but we'll see. Anyone had ANY feedback from this sort of thing? I'd be happy with dousing them in petrol and lighting a match tbh

Unless you can provide them with a registration plate or other specific details I doubt much will happen in my experience.

I had someone force us off the road on the M6 due to moving over without looking.

It was by a junction that had quite a few cameras (static and road works). I don’t know if they were functioning, but even though I called 999 immediately, they closed the investigation as I put the phone down and didn’t tell me until I called a couple of days later for an update.

I ended up sorting privately as it was only my car damaged.

Zero chance of them investigating. The police expect you to do most of the work these days with this sort of thing (and burglaries), or they just don't bother.

Cameras are everywhere, but they aren't for our protection or safety.

Yeah, I had my car damaged by somebody using my car a wheel chock and found this was a common occurence on the street, with at least 3 other cars being scuffed, dented and scraped by a women parking there to go to her work. Denied it all so I went to the police and reported it and they basically just shrugged, even with photographic evidence in the case of somebody else with her car hard up against their car on the hill.

I just made sure everyone knew who was doing it and mysteriously she stopped parking there a few weeks later and parked on another street close by...

If they aren't going to do anything, might as well take things in to our own hands.

Someone near me already knocked a guy out who he found trying to break in to his car (a Golf R which seemed to get messed with a few times). Didn't call the police, just lumped him and left him laying in the road lol. Eventually a cop did turn up, and an ambulance, because there was a random guy laying in the road.

It's a nice area too but people everywhere have had enough of the lack of action on low level crime. I thought it was hilarious, like something from GTA.

Annoying isn't it theres a significant ding in the front wing complete with a nice scrape of white paint on my car certainly didn't happen while I was in it someone must have pranged it while it was parked, no note left of course. Thinking of asking what the dealer will charge to rectify but not expecting to have much change out of a grand
