Unfortunately someone drove into my car as it was parked over night (presuming drink driver) and drove off without leaving any information. The damage is only to the rear left wheel arch and is quite a large dent. Is this worth going through insurance and possibly affecting no claims or just doing it without the insurance knowing seperately? Also some rough idea on a price would be amazing.

That would you cost you about £300-400 to get repaired. A decent mobile repairer will fill the dent then match the paint like new in about 2-3 hours (they come to your vehicle and do it at the kerb). Not worth putting through your insurance as for a few 100 just pay that unless you are not bothered about insurance cost going up next time!

If not dented you could DIY with a buffing machine & some polishing compound!
 
Get someone to pull the dent first (a PDR man), then get it sprayed separately if it needs it after lots of polishing. If you take it to a bodyshop it will cost 100s and take ages.

i think this seems like a solid idea, its just finding a dent removal place in my area. how much would it be to be sprayed roughly? thanks

They will not just spray it no point with a dent the paint would crack again! Find a local mobile repair firm in your area they will usually come out to your home to do this takes a bout 2-3 hours max cost around £300-400 per panel so if only 1 panel around £400 ish as they need to use filler as well !
