My brother went to Bridgnorth last night for a few drinks with friends. Upon returning to his car the front off side wing had been hit hard, fetching the paint, trim, corner of bumper off and leaving a big crease in the wing. All that was left at the scene was white paint on his car :( Obviously annoying, what can he do? Report it to the police as hit and run?! He is going back tonight to look for CCTV - It was a pay and display car park. He always gets bad luck, feel sorry for him.

Even if there is CCTV I think he will be in with a real struggle to get the police to act upon it. Police response is not usually good in hit and run cases unless there are injured parties.

Perhaps your right about the police. However, just coming off the phone with the council who own the carpark - they are checking cctv and if they see it the chap said he will ring and tell me the number plate for insurance. So fingers crossed...

Try and get a copy of the tape as well and ask for the numberplate confirmation in writing. Contact your insurance company and inform them of what's going on with the CCTV as well.

Police in post cases are pretty crap with hit and runs,
Someone whacked our car whilst it was parked up caused 1 grands damage and driven off.

Good news was they got the person that did it ..with no license insurance etc

Still lost my no claims thanks to that as I haven't had a penny back :(
