Just how damned polished is this game, playing it through for about the 5th time now

Absolutely love it, always have liked the hitman series, from the very first time I played the demo years ago of the chinese restaurant level in the original game, every rendition in the series has been outstanding.

The little improvements and additions they add to tweak the hitman interface also really please me, the fact that they clearly put a lot of thought into how you would actually go about killing someone. How reassuring :p

As for Hitman:BM in particular, if you know the storyline and have followed it from the start, the final level (without giving too much away) is simply amazing.

The storylines, the level design, the music, all are brilliant. If you haven't tried any of the Hitman series, I suggest you do.

This was the first game in the Hitman series I played. I particularly enjoyed the level "A House of Cards" as it looked very good and "polished" as you said and the ending was done well (the "real" ending anyway ;) ). Looking forward to the next in the series whenever that's released.

That level, "A House of Cards" was, I think, the hardest mission I've ever done in any game. Working out how to complete that on Silent Assassin (I never use walkthroughs for hitman, its just too much fun working out the levels), took me ages.

I enjoyed the one where you have to get into the bird suit at the carnival. Can't for the life of me remember what it's called now but I love that level. Also enjoy flat line, very good again.

It's the most refined game in the series - you can tell the developers are now comfortable with the engine and wanted to create something special with it.

I think many reviewers looked at it as just 'another hitman game' - whereas in actual fact it deserves top marks as a game in it's own right. It's much more freeform than you think it will be.

I got about halfway through, then during a reformat forgot to backup my save games (all my 'silent assassin' save games gone :( ) and I haven't gone back to it since.

Same here, took me a while to get it done properly, which was why I enjoyed it so much. Was a nice feeling completing it silent assassin as it was such a challenge.

Is this the latest game? I have hitman 1 and 2. I loved them both, especially once you've completed the game and can just go through the missions like terminator - all guns blazing. lol.

A Murder of Crows, fiendishly hard on expert. Flat line really annoys me, I can't for the life of me complete it without 1 witness. I think Ive narrowed it down to the receptionist but can't work out a way to take her out/get into patients disguise any other way.

Yup, but if you haven't played Hitman:Contracts I suggest that aswell.

Aye you won't have any problems running them at all.

The first mission, "A Vintage Year", when you come to axeing the old guy, I couldn't kill him for literally 5 minutes because the piece of Bach (cello suite 1 in g major) he was playing is so beautiful. What other game gives you that? :)

There is a guy outside smoking by some benches. Steal his papers and checkin properly. No suspicion then. i finished that level with silent assasin

Don't do that, I suggest you don't bother acquiring any disguise except for the one belonging to a medical orderly :)

As for me, I got stuck on the boat. I can get one or two of the targets, but then there are always three more to kill and I run out of ideas.

I'm stuck on the 2nd (or 3rd if you count the training one as the first). I just dunno what to do.
Curtains Down? Took me ages to figure that one out aswell. It involves creating two 'accidents' with light fittings and props. Walkthrough below.

Rig up 2 accidents:

- Check in at the cloakroom, you will receive an authentic WWII pistol.

- Follow the workman (green overalls) by the cloakroom into the toilets (ooer), take his uniform, dispose of body.

- Follow the basement round to the dressing rooms.

- Ascend the staircase to the light rigging balcony opposite star dressing rooms, place mine.

- Wait until the singing bit has finished, and the stars come back. Wait in the dressing room of the officer, not Alvaro the main tenor, he'll go for a wee, sneak in and swap guns, first accident.

- After accident 1 has happened, the fbi guy will rush down to check his friend, set off the bomb and the light rigging will fall on him. If you stay in place be prepared to run as you'll be swarmed by FBI: You can run through the door and through a hole in the floor onto scafolding and out that way. Alternatively stand in a dark spot in the audience pit and detonate from there, second accident.

- Retreive suit from toilets, voila.

to my eternal shame i had to use a walkthrough on the first proper mission. i just didn't know what to do.... :o

i haven't played it since as i don't want to ruin it by using walkthroughs. but then again it's sat on my shelf doing nothing. i guess i'll have to try again at some point and stick with it. it's a quality game, no doubt about it. :D

Why not do that? It worked for me. Just take his papers while his back is turned. You donthave to kill him. That way, you just checkin, the nurse gives you a patient costume and your free to walk about. Worked for me. No whitnesses and all objectives completed with a silent assasin rating.
